Aircraft Brakes
CFRCs developed by Surface Transforms plc are designed to replace traditional carbon-carbon products by offering improved thermal and weight-saving properties, and superior braking performance.
The benefits of using CFRC aircraft brakes are:
- Increased thermal mass of the heat pack
- High consistent friction
- Reduced wear
- Reduced overall weight of the heat pack
- A fast, low-cost production process

In January 2005, Surface Transforms signed a new aircraft brakes development contract with a major US manufacturer. More details will follow in line with the confidentiality requirements of this very important contract.
In November 2003, Surface Transforms signed a multi-year licensing contract with Dunlop Aerospace, one of the world’s leading suppliers of aircraft braking systems and services, to develop a ceramic braking product for this market.
